This study investigated whether attending mainstream school is associated with improved social inclusion among children on the autism spectrum and their parents. The cross-sectional study took place from July to August 2023 at 30 rehabilitation centers for children on the autism spectrum in Hunan Province, China. Participants included 860 children aged 3-14 years, with autism history receiving outpatient rehabilitation services, and their primary caregiver parents aged 23-54 years.
