Background: The rhizome of Corydalis decumbens (Thunb.) Pers. (Papaveraceae) is one of the well- known TCMs. This medicine has been used for the treatment of hemiplegia, alleviating pain, rheumatic arthritis and infantile paralysis residual. The tertiary and quaternary ammonium alkaloid in it has been investigated to some extent. It is the first report for the simultaneous determination of eleven major alkaloids in Corydalis decumbens (Thunb.) Pers.
