Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic joint disease characterized by progressive cartilage degeneration, which imposes a heavy physical and financial burden on the middle-aged and elderly population. As the pathogenesis of OA has not been fully elucidated, it is of great importance to develop targeted therapeutic or preventive medications. Traditional therapeutic drugs, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, steroids and opioids, have significant side effects, making the exploration for safe and effective alternative therapeutic drugs urgent.
