Background: Allergic rhinitis (AR) is an immunoglobulin E (IgE)-mediated inflammatory response. Persistent allergic rhinitis (PAR) is a subtype of AR, but the treatment of PAR is still a problem. Acupuncture is used as an alternative therapy for AR in clinical practice.
