目前的金融危机已对我国广大返乡农民工再就业产生很大影响。就湖南而言，返乡农民工大多来自广东省珠三角地区；主要集中在劳动密集型和技术含量低的制造业和建筑业；年龄偏大、综合素质不高，基本上没有接受过技能培训；但外出务工意愿强烈。解决返乡农民工就业问题，需要建立一系列长效机制，包括创新政府帮扶形式，拓展农民工就业平台；切实加强技能培训，提高返乡农民工就业能力；加强就业指导服务；保护农民工合法权益；建立政府主导的金融担保和信用评价体系，为农民工创业提供金融支持，优化自主创业的环境；完善农村劳动力就业的法律规制，为农民工就业提供制度保障等。

Currently, the financial crisis is striking substantial economy, and produces a strong impact on the employment of the returning migrant workers in China. In the second half of 2008, tens of millions of migrant workers in China were forced to return home.
