After the study of brain MR images it is found that its gray distribution has a specific distribution pattern. The image's histogram is closely related to the distribution of brain tissue. The distribution pattern of the histogram can be abstracted into a series of curves. In this paper, an automatic segmentation method is proposed for magnetic resonance (MRI) brain images according to the abstract curves. In the end a more accurate segmentation method is obtained.
