Zearalenone (ZEN) was a toxic compound secreted by the metabolism of fungi that exerted negative influence over human and animal health due to its carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, genotoxicity, nephrotoxicity, immunotoxicity and teratogenicity. The superiority of biosensors was recognized which held a great potential for ZEN detection because they were less costly and much friendlier in preparation and operation steps but further sensitive, specific, rapid, and portable.
