Objective: To improve synthesis of sertraline hydrochloride. Methods: Sertraline hydrochloride was synthesized from orthodichlorobenzene and α-naphthol by alkylation reaction, amination with methylimine, hydrogenation with Pd/C, resolution with D-(-) mandelic acid and salt formation.
