A graphene oxide (GO)–based fluorescent bioassay was developed to quantify agrA gene transcription (its mRNA) in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). This method is based on the use of Klenow fragment (KF)–assisted target recycling amplification and hybridization chain reaction (HCR).
