中医药作为防病治病的重要手段,为人们所熟悉、所推崇。然而,中医药的政治功能却被人忽略。在当代中国,中医药具有四大政治功能:中医药是中华优秀传统文化教育的重要内容,是爱国主义教育的重要载体,是加强国际交流的工具,是大国地位的体现。在全面建成小康社会的决胜阶段,中医院校要充分发掘中医药的四大政治功能,勇担繁荣发展中医院校哲学社会科学使命。

People are familiar with and respected Chinese medicine as an important means of disease prevention and treatment. However, the political function of traditional Chinese medicine has been ignored.
