王若光教授认为子宫内膜异位症是从多方面、多环节影响卵泡的发育和成熟、排卵、受精、子宫内膜容受性、胚胎着床和发育导致不孕不育。王教授认为其中医主要病机为“虚、瘀、痛”,实质为本虚标实,本虚为脾肾两虚,黄体不足,胞脉失于濡养不荣则痛,标实为湿瘀夹杂,胞脉阻滞不通则痛,治疗上提倡中西医结合治疗,中药三期论治:经期重在活血化瘀、调理气血、利水化湿、软坚散结、抗炎为大法;经后期滋阴助阳、宁心益肾健脾、暖宫促孕、促排卵,排卵后补充孕激素;经前期以补益脾肾兼理气,以“调经助孕,改善卵巢功能”为治疗大法,临床疗效显著。

In the opinion of Professor Wang Ruoguang, endometriosis leads to infertility through affecting development and maturation of follicle, ovulation, fertilization, embryo implantation and embryo development. Professor Wang Ruoguang considers that the main TCM pathogenesis of this disease is the "deficiency, blood stasis, pain", the essence is deficiency in origin and enrichment in symptom.
