Xuetong, the dried stem of Kadsura heteroclita (Roxb.) Craib, is a traditional Tujia medicine extensively used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA). All traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) necessitate a processing stage called “Paozhi” before clinical application.
